Educational Environment

Our Educational Vision

CPE Kaléidoscope CCC is a recognized childcare service that follows the educational program “Accueillir la petite enfance,” developed by the Ministère de la Famille et des Aînés.

The educational program aims to support children’s overall development based on five basic principles:

  • Children learn through play;
  • Every child is unique;
  • Children are the primary agents in their own development;
  • Children’s development is a holistic and integrated process;
  • Communication between educators and parents is essential to children’s harmonious development.

In addition, we have chosen to implement the HighScope educational approach, which has been scientifically proven over the years.

The HighScope Approach

The HighScope approach is based on active learning. Throughout the day, children make several decisions that guide their learning.

Developmentally appropriate materials are provided, and activities related to key developmental indicators are implemented to support children’s overall development.

Nutrition

CPE Kaléidoscope and La Vallée Colorée provide children with two (2) snacks and one (1) nutritious lunch every day.

A four-week rotating menu ensures that children receive balanced and varied meals. In addition, the entire menu is changed twice a year to take into account the seasons and the availability of fresh foods.

Administrative, educational, and kitchen staff understand the importance of healthy eating. In order to maintain and improve our nutrition-related practices, staff have completed the Croqu’Plaisir training program and use the Gazelle et Potiron guide.

Childcare Services Registration Portal

Registering My Child

To register your child with an educational childcare service, you must access the Childcare Services Registration Portal (formerly La Place 0-5).

This portal allows you to create your family profile, search for a childcare service that meets your needs and those of your child, submit and track your admission applications, and update your contact information.

CPE La Vallée Colorée does not accept registrations directly, but refers families to the Childcare Services Registration Portal to allocate available spaces.
