Role of the Coordinating Office

Managing and Administering Home Childcare Services

CPE Kaléidoscope CCC also serves as the coordinating office for recognized home childcare services throughout the Haut-Saint-Laurent RCM and provides home childcare services to three hundred and twenty-five (325) children.

Only a coordinating office can recognize individuals who wish to provide home childcare services and are qualified to do so. The coordinating office is responsible for reviewing all recognition applications submitted to it.

Recognition is granted for a period of five years and may be renewed. The coordinating office is responsible for ensuring that the conditions for recognition continue to be met before renewing it. Under certain circumstances, it may refuse to renew recognition, suspend it or even revoke it.

Our Mission

Quality Services for Your Child

The coordinating office is mandated to enforce compliance with the Educational Childcare Act standards governing RSGEs within its jurisdiction. To verify adherence to legal requirements and recognition criteria, it carries out three unannounced on-site inspections annually at childcare residences during operational hours.

This function is generally assigned to a compliance officer, who plans and conducts the visits, verifies compliance with the regulations, determines the corrective measures required and verifies their implementation. Compliance officers cannot be assigned to the educational and technical support provided to RSGEs.

Home Childcare: A valuable environment for our little ones

The coordinating office holds responsibility for assessing parent eligibility when an application for a reduced-contribution childcare place is submitted.

Parents who wish to benefit from the reduced contribution or be exempt from paying it must submit their request to the RSGE. If the RSGE has an available reduced-contribution space, they provide the parent with the form that must be completed.
