About Us
CPE Kaléidoscope CCC
Our Mission
CPE Kaléidoscope CCC is committed to providing high-quality childcare services tailored to the needs of our community, where children can reach their full potential, helping facilitate their transition to school while providing parents with peace of mind.
The CPE strives to complement family life by providing a safe, welcoming environment where children feel comfortable as they continue their learning, while giving parents peace of mind.
Finally, communication between the CPE and parents is essential, as it is the key to a child’s success. When parents and the CPE work together and share the same goals—namely, the child’s well-being and development—the child benefits from everyone’s involvement in all aspects of their life.
Our Goals
Our primary mandate is to ensure the health, safety and well-being of children at all times while adopting educational, preventive and constructive approaches.
In addition, CPE Kaléidoscope CCC ensures that all of its employees adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Regroupement des Centres de la petite enfance de la Montérégie.

Our Educational Vision
CPE Kaléidoscope CCC is a recognized childcare service that follows the educational program “Accueillir la petite enfance,” developed by the Ministère de la Famille et des Aînés.
The educational program aims to support children’s overall development based on five basic principles:
- Children learn through play
- Every child is unique
- The child is the main agent of his or her own development
- Child development is a holistic and integrated process
- Communication between educators and parents is essential to a child’s healthy development
In addition, we have chosen to implement the HighScope educational approach, which has been scientifically proven over the years.
The HighScope Approach
The HighScope approach is based on active learning. Throughout the day, children make several decisions that guide their learning.
Developmentally appropriate materials are provided, and activities related to key developmental indicators are implemented to support children’s overall development.
The Beginnings of Kaléidoscope
In 1979, parents in the community joined forces to create a childcare centre offering high-quality childcare services for their children while taking into consideration the needs of families in the region. On December 18, 1979, Kaléidoscope Daycare was registered with the Ministère des Consommateurs, Coopératives et Institutions financières. At the time, the daycare, located at 16 King Street in Huntingdon, welcomed thirty-six (36) children, primarily from families living in Huntingdon.
Over the years, the corporation was required to change its name. From its original name, Garderie Kaléidoscope, to Centre de la petite enfance Kaléidoscope, our CPE is now identified as the Centre de la petite enfance Kaléidoscope Child Care Center.
In 1998, the corporation added home childcare services to its range of services, creating fifty (50) spaces.
To meet the growing demand for childcare services in our region, the corporation began offering services at 1725 Fairview Road in Hinchinbrooke in 2000, increasing its capacity to eighty (80) spaces.
Over the Years…
In spring 2006, when the Coordinating Offices for Home Childcare Services were established by the Ministère de la Famille et des Aînés, the corporation was granted recognition for the territory of the Haut-Saint-Laurent RCM. As of June 1, 2006, the number of spaces available through home childcare services was set at three hundred and twenty-five (325).
In 2009, following changes, the facility reduced its licensed capacity to 77 spaces. On January 27, 2014, the Hinchinbrooke facility received approval from the Ministère to increase its service capacity by one space and has since provided childcare services to 78 children.
When the Government of Québec launched a call for proposals to create 15,000 new childcare spaces, the CPE submitted an application to open a Child Care Centre in Saint-Chrysostome.
CPE La Vallée Colorée in Saint-Chrysostome became a reality in April 2021, with 80 spaces.
These developments have enabled the Centre de la petite enfance Kaléidoscope Child Care Center to offer childcare services to 483 children in the region to date.
